The rich farmland of the estate, created by the alluvium of the Rhône River, currently is
planted with orchards that produce cherries, apricots, pears, and apples.
For the 2007-2008 season, the agricultural land is farmed by the current owner. Should a buyer
not wish in the future to keep the orchards or rent the land, he could consider growing wheat and
other crops such as corn, sorghum, colza or sunflower. Irrigation is available throughout the property.
The demand for cereals and energy crops is thought to be on a long term, growth curve. Furthermore the
owner of a nearby property of over 200 acres is looking for a partnership to co-manage the two properties
and outsource all agricultural tasks thus eliminating the need to employ workers. The payroll could be
limited to one part time farm supervisor in charge of a total property of close to 200 hectares (about 440 acres),
a large estate by local standards.
